My name is Monique Ngozi Nri. I am a poet who completed her MFA in poetry at Brooklyn College in May 2021. I sat directly on front of Jonathan Memmert last night and overheard him talking about his experience of the MFA in poetry at City College during COVID. I interrupted his conversation, turns out we both read at the NYC Poetry Festival in 2021.

I am cofounder of the Black Lives Matter Poetry Alliance. BLMPA I have sevral pieces of writing published in And Then, a print literary journal and in the New York City Jazz Record. I perform with my husband's band Diaspora and appear on two recordings singing and reading poetry. I am currently trying to publish my manuscript. I hope that I can participate in this space.
